I research, write and develop content about sustainability and sustainable development. My clients are publishers of print or online media, and institutions involved in sustainable development projects. I create clear, well-structured and useful content, in a style appropriate to the intended audience.
Qualifications and work experience
I graduated with a B. Com in Economics from the University of Cape Town in 2002. I went on to become a writer and content editor, working to develop content for university textbooks, magazine articles and websites. I have researched and written on topics as diverse as travel, nursing, property, mathematics, investing, and sustainable living.
In 2009 I returned to university for postgraduate study, completing a Master’s in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University in 2010. My thesis topic was “Water Scarcity and Electricity Generation in South Africa”, where I investigated the impact of coal-powered electricity on water resources, from the extraction of coal to its disposal after combustion in a power plant.
I now work predominantly on sustainability-related projects as a writer, researcher and content editor. Besides writing, my specialty is content development: this is a deep form of editing and re-writing for structure, logic and flow in a text. Think of me as an information architect.
